Mermaid Sisters!

Hi all, Mark here!
Today's illustration is for the previous theme, 'Mermaids'.

I love mermaids, so I drew two cute mermaid sisters (a pouty goth and a happy nerd).  They are best friends despite their different personalities.
The art for this was inspired by the Paper Mario video game series.

All jokes aside, this is a perfect representation of the two types of women I'm attracted to

Amelia Bedelia and so many mermaids!

OH HEY
So, to start this week off here's a throwback featuring a character I've loved since 2nd grade, when I'd spend my indoor recess time reading books under the big tables in class.

Drop the beat

and for last weeks challenge, a slew of mer-folk!

Mermaid Sketches

For this weeks challenge I ended up creating an awesome sketch in my new sketchbook, only to murk it up somehow! I'm so upset! But it's cool, I'm going to try and redo it but for now here's the sketches and the damaged illustration.

and here's the ruined piece that would've been great!

wish me luck on the redo!

Woohoo! Two pieces from our friends!

Mer-Wrasslin'

This week got away from me so, I give you a doodle I did a couple months ago. I really want to revisit this idea and clean these cuties up into a finished piece.

Mermaid Cutie

I had a lot of fun working on this piece.  I was originally going to create it digitally, but I was in the mood to get my hands messy.  This piece is a mix of Prismacolor Markers, colored pencils, bleach, and brown micron pens.

Also, boobs.  Because if I lived under the sea and had a rockin' mermaid body (all that swimming is an excellent work out) there is no way in hell I'd put on a seashell bra.  Word. Oh, and she's a goldfish mermaid.
