Logo Challenge: The last one is hopefully a good one!

Hello! After seeing everyone's great logos, I decided to scrap my first idea and come up with a better one!
I really like making logos. I also really like using circles in my logos, so of course when it came to the challenge I went with my usual signatures!

I'm also really big on adding textures. I think it really adds to the logo without being overbearing.  One of my favorite places to get textures from is Lost And Taken. They have every texture you can think of AND it's free!

Oh I'm Shawny and I am really excited to be apart of this group! If you want to check out some of my work,  click here!

A NEW CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED i mean logo

So many great logos! Looks like you guys are gonna keep me on my toes.

Anyway, for a introductory my logo is true to the blog in that I scribbled it out in 15 minutes at work and telling of me as an artist.

Meaning there's tentacles in it?

Of course there are.

or i guess there's just the one, really

then OF COURSE I looked at what everyone else was up to and had to do a slap dash rendering in Sai which gets you this nonsense

Logo Design - Dee Pio

Sketches and scribbles are the foundation for many great illustrations, so for my logo design I decided to let the the scribbles do the talking. As such, I wanted to give this whole piece a handmade feel, so I hand drew and scanned in the background doodles and the letters for "nerds".  "Scribble" is a font that I went back into and adjusted to give each letter the shape i wanted. Hope you enjoy it.

A wild Blogger Appeared! Intro post!

Hello!
My name is Mark Laubenthal, and I'm one of the new Scribble Nerds!
I'm a digital illustrator who works on game apps and children's products & toys for a living; I like to think of myself as a cuteness connoisseur.  I'm super into animals, monsters, cute characters, food, toys, stickers, and game art (especially old school 8-bit).  Fun fact: video game art was what inspired me to want to be an artist.  I still remember at 3 years old drawing Mega Man on the outside of my parent's house with a pen.

On to the challenge.  For the first challenge we were to design a logo for Scribble Nerds.  I immediately knew I wanted to do one that had a hand-written feel for the word 'Scribble' but also incorporated a nerdy "8-bit" vibe for the 'Nerds' part.

The New Scribble Nerds!

Hey all! You didn't think you could get rid of us that easily, did you? Oh... you did, huh? Well TOO BAD! Huha! We're back and better than ever! We're coming at you with 4, count 'em, 4 NEW MEMBERS! Sorry, I'm a little excited.

Scribble Nerds has expanded and is now a 6 artist team. We are: Clare Kolat (me,) Deanna Piotrowski (the lovable Nerdee,) Shawny Walthaw (the queen of fresh stylization and charm,) Mark Laubenthal (the master of all things adorable,) Henry Pope III (artistic badass and all around nice guy,) and Ashley Ribblett (the lovable lech.)

Combining our abilities, we plan to bring you amazing art that will make you laugh, shout, cry, and maybe even get a little queazy (in no particular order.) Our first art challenge is to design a logo for ourselves. Have at it Nerds!
