Amelia Bedelia and so many mermaids!

OH HEY
So, to start this week off here's a throwback featuring a character I've loved since 2nd grade, when I'd spend my indoor recess time reading books under the big tables in class.

Drop the beat

Fifth Element: Work In progress + Sketches.

Hey there! Just a little late sunday night post from Shawny!

Since this week's challenge was The Fifth Element, I was inspired to do a big illustration for it.

So instead of having a finished piece, here is some of the sketches I've done. I'll eventually do a line drawing and then finish the rest in Illustrator. I've also included some sketches of other fifth element work that I'm currently working on as well!

This is my usual process when working on projects. Bunch of random sketches, then the rough, rough draft, where I make dumb notes! This usually works for me!

Leeloo will be the next lady in my sweethearts project!

And finally I really love the Flight Stewardess' outfits in the movie, so here's a couple of sketches of them too!

throwback to good days

this is a throwback from my sketchbook around September of 2 years ago. It was one of many rarer good days and we spent it eating crepes, sipping pumpkin lattes and makin' a sketch for a friend. The cafe is La Petite Triangle.

Shawny's back in action with the Rocketeer! (WIP)

Hello! It's Shawny. I know, I have been missing on the blog for a couple of weeks thanks to my summer job and computer woes. But I'm back and I come with goodies!

For this weeks challenge I did a sketchbook illustration that will eventually go into Illustrator. I wanted to show the rough sketch before cleaning it up and turning it into vector. Since I'm trying to draw more dudes, drawing the Rocketeer was perfect. But of course I had to add a pretty lady!

Close up!

This weekend I'll probably finish it completely and share it with next week's challenge!

Also, just to play catch up, I'll  be posting some of the other challenges I missed, right after the most recent weekly challenge till I'm all caught up!

Everything is Rosie

Who doesn't love Rosie from the Saturday morning cartoons of yore? The adorable and funny cyber maid of the future from The Jetsons is a classic robot darling.

Wonder Woman WIP

Hello this is Shawny! This Wonder Woman Challenge is right up my alley! I'm doing a commission piece for a client that is going to be based off his wife for their anniversary.

Here are some really rough sketches.  I'll share the finished piece sometime later this week!

I picked the last pose for the final drawing. Can't wait to show it off!
